About the podcast
The Waiting Room Revolution is hosted by Dr Hsien Seow, a Canadian health services researcher and professor, and Dr Sammy Winemaker, a palliative care physician. It’s a podcast and educational movement that aims to transform the experience of serious illness by sharing practical strategies, personal stories, and the “7 Keys” framework to help people feel more informed, empowered, and in control of their care.
This episode provided a valuable opportunity to connect New Zealand’s approach with global conversations about improving care experiences for people with serious illness. It also highlights the growing impact of our mahi - showing how thoughtful, culturally responsive approaches to advance care planning and shared goals of care are helping shape more compassionate care, both here and abroad.
